Hebe “Marilyn Monroe” has beautiful sage green variegated foliage with new growth emerging in a shade of dark pink, flowers are deep mauvey pink fading to light pink with time. This evergreen shrub had a compact rounded shape and is well suited to a container and prefers a sheltered site in full sun.

Fuchsia ‘Lady in black’
Fuchsia 'Lady in black' is classed as a climbing fuchsia, it most certainly is tall and benefits from a frame to tie it to . It is hardy , in a mild winter it will grow from it's hard wood , but in a severe winter it will grow from the base. One of the darkest hardy Fuchsias we grow here, with an almost black corolla, in full bloom it is quite stunning!

Sambucus nigra ‘Black beauty’
Best sited in full sun to get the best dark foliage from this reliable sturdy shrub, the dark burgundy almost black leaves make an excellent background for the pink and white flowers that open from dark red buds in May. Dark purple berries follow that are edible ( we use our to make wine!) but if you're not ready to harvest them for your own use the birds will gladly help you out as they love them. Although it will grow to 3mts in height it can be kept to about 1.2mts if you prune it back to about 60cms each winter , keeping it's shape more compact.
Plants are supplied in a 1.5ltr pot and may be pruned back for dispatch.
Lemon Verbena , Lippia Citriodora .
Lemon Verbena, Lippia Citriodora has the most lemony scent of all plants, it almost smells like lemon sherbet ( if only there was a scratch and sniff feature on your screen!). Half hardy it is best grown against a wall or in a pot placed near the house, or if you're in a wet ,cold area bring it in to an unheated greenhouse or polytunnel for the Winter, prune it back in winter/ early Spring to keep it tidy. Use Lemon Verbena in herb tea, stuffings, pot pourri, cakes or just brush your hand across it as you walk past and let it fill the air with it's incredible scent!

Rubus spectabilis ‘Olympic double’
Rubus spectabilis 'Olympic double' is a deciduous shrub, fully hardy and not fussy about it's soil, bogs are best avoided! It almost looks like a rose when it flowers, but this tough chap has no problems with black spot or greenfly, in fact if visitors to your garden sweep swiftly past it they may well think it's the healthiest rose they've ever seen! It does have a suckering habit so don't plant it in somewhere that you don't want it to fill a space because it will spread, if you want to keep it smaller you can prune it's mature, thorny stems back each year after flowering.
