PRIMULA ALPICOLA

This elegant and delicate looking primula is tougher than it looks! it has the most fantastic scent and is happy in damp places in Sun or shade. Native to the eastern Himalayas where it grows in shady bogs and alpine meadows it has adapted well to our British climate making it a great addition to the border or pond side, where it will form a good sized clump that can be divided after flowering. Flowers are mixed either in a shades of mauve or cream to white.
Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot.

Agapanthus ‘Blue Ice’
Not the hardiest of Agapanthus but well worth the effort of planting in a pot and bringing in for a little Winter protection ( which is what we have to do here!) or in milder areas it can be planted out and protected with fleece or mulch. Thalictrum Rochebrunianum
Thalictrum rochebrunianum has strong, dark purple stems that that hold delicate mauve flowers with cream stamens high over it's sage green Aquilegia like foliage. The stems are strong and no staking is required, the flowers almost appear to float especially in the shade where the dark stems seem to disappear as the get thinner near the blooms .Thalictrum rochebrunianum is happy in shade but will grow in sun as long as it doesn't dry out.
Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot, and will be cut back for dispatch from May .
Schizostylus coccinea ‘major’
Schizostylis coccinea 'Major' brings a burst of colour late in the season when everything else is thinking of of going to bed for the Winter! It is happy in average growing conditions but doesn't like to dry out too much in the Summer, but neither does it like too much wet in the Winter, this makes it sound as if it's fussy but it's really a very easy plant that grows well here in Wales even with our somewhat soggy Winters. It will form a good sized clump eventually at least 60cms or more wide that can be divided preferably in Spring , although I have divided Schizostylis all through the seasons and it's never let me down.

Corydalis ‘Spinners’
Corydalis 'Spinners' is a cross between Corydalis Elata and Corydalis Flexuosa it's delicate sky blue flowers are held above divided ferny foliage , happy in most soils alkaline to acid, in sun or shade, as long as it doesn't dry out! after flowering in the spring and early Summer Corydalis 'Spinners' will go dormant until the Winter when it starts to reappear.
Plants are supplied bare root December - February . 9cm pot March onwards. If plants are sent when in full growth it may be necessary to cut them back for postage.
