Aconitum Hemsleyaynum is a hardy twining climber, it's great for growing against a wall or fence that may need painting as it dies back to ground level in winter, if you grow it with Wisteria it almost looks as if the wisteria is in bloom all year! Although it is listed as 1mtr in width ,it can be trained across a much wider area. Note this plant is poisonous and gloves should be worn when handling it. Plants are supplied in a 2ltr pot.
Agapanthus ‘Blue Ice’
Not the hardiest of Agapanthus but well worth the effort of planting in a pot and bringing in for a little Winter protection ( which is what we have to do here!) or in milder areas it can be planted out and protected with fleece or mulch. A classy, cool customer with large flowers that are blue/mauve at the base changing to palest blue then white at the tips of each petal.These plants are supplied in 1ltr pots.

A stunning almost black flower held on strong stems above strappy green foliage that dies back in winter, making it hardier than the evergreen varieties! great in containers. Although hardy Midnight cascade does like to be well drained in the winter. Plants are supplied in a 2ltr pot. Plants will be cut back for delivery when flower stems are tall .

Agapanthus "Blue umbrella" is an evergreen agapanthus that is well suited to growing in a pot as it is not hardy it benefits from some winter protection. Although it likes to stay on the dry side in the winter make sure that it is well watered in the summer as this is when it makes it's buds for next years flowers! Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot.
Agapanthus “Navy blue” ( Midnight star)
Agapanthus Navy blue is a deciduous variety making it hardier than it's evergreen siblings , it needs full sun and as much shelter as possible to encourage it to produce it's elegant ( not surprisingly!) navy blue flowers , held on strong stems over green strap like foliage . Agapanthus like to be well drained in the winter but make sure they get enough moisture in the summer to form the flower buds for the following season. Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot.
Agapanthus inapertus ‘Graskop’
Agapanthus 'Graskop' has almost black buds that open to reveal dark violet blue flowers, it is deciduous and hardy to nearly -15c and will thrive in average dampness in the summer but it really doesn't like to have a soggy bottom in the winter, lets face it not many of us do! so place it in a well drained area in full sun or it will be happy in a pot. Plants are supplied in a 2ltr pot.
Agapanthus Silver baby
Agapanthus Silver baby produces lots of almost white flowers with pale blue edged petals, they have a fresh cool look and are held upright on strong stems at 50cms tall this Agapanthus has a good compact size. Evergreen, it may need winter protection with a dry mulch or fleece , well suited to pot culture, as with all Agapanthus keep it well drained in winter , but well watered in summer. Plants are supplied in a minimum 2ltr pot .
Anemone rupicola ‘Ruffled swan’
Anemone rupicola 'Ruffled swan' appears hot on the heels of it's sister 'Wild swan' with the same lilac backs to the petals that make the buds look completely lilac when the flowers close in the evening. Happy in most places in the garden that are well drained, this is a plant that really doesn't like to have a soggy bottom! Plants are supplied in a 1.5 - 2ltr pot.
AQUILEGIA ‘Ruby port’
Aquilegia ' Ruby port' has lovely deep wine coloured, double blooms held on dark stems, happy in sun or shade and most soils. It flowers in late spring / early summer. Slug proof and reliable it makes a great addition to the border. Plants are supplied bare root till mid April then in 1.5ltr pots. in 1.5ltr pots.
One of the most reliable and easiest Arisaemas to grow, umbrella shaped leaves held above purple/brown and whitence/green striped inflorescence. The leaves look especially beautiful after rain when droplets form at the end of each leaf creating the impression of a ring of crystals. Arisaema Ciliatum is stoloniferous producing lots of tubers that form a good clump. Plant in a spot sheltered from strong winds. Plants are supplied as tubers and can only be shipped when dormant or just started into growth. October - April. Although listed as 'out of stock' plants are still available from the nursery, they're just too fragile and tall to post and unfortunately can't be cut back.
Arisaema sikokianum is a plant for well drained shade , too much wet in winter and it will not be happy, but given the right conditions with added leaf mould if possible and this plant really is a wonder to behold, with it's dark spathe and matt, white, club-like spandix. It takes 5 years for the plants to become female and if you have a young male present then the flowers will be followed by red berries. The roots die back to the dormant tuber in winter . If you don't have a suitable outside conditions Arisaema sikokianum is well suited to pot culture and can then be brought into an unheated greenhouse for the winter but should not be allowed to completely dry out. Plants are supplied potted in 9cm pots.
Astrantia ‘ Venice’
Astrantia ' Venice' is a strong growing Astrantia that has rich red flowers held on straight stems that don't need staking, slug proof , Astrantia 'Venice' won't disappoint! It will grow in any moist well drained soil in sun or even shade but it's flower colour will be paler in the shade, as in my opinion it's one of the brightest reds available it's a shame to loose any of it's amazing tone. Astrantia major ‘Buckland’
Astrantia major 'Buckland' is an easy , no fuss plant, disease and slug resistant, happy in sun or shade, it's pincushion white flowers are flushed with pink and held on strong stems. Astrantias make excellent cut flowers lasting at least a month in water. Buckland will form a good clump that can be divided in Autumn or spring. Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot.
Baptisia ‘Dutch Chocolate’
Baptisia Dutch Chocolate is a more compact variety, it's purple/brown blooms are held on strong stems over blue /green foliage, best in a well drained sunny spot, when plants are happy they are very long lived. Baptisias have deep tap roots that resent disturbance, so be careful if you want to lift and divide them. They also have attractive dark grey seed pods in Autumn. Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot.
Caltha palustris Alba
Caltha palustris Alba is the white marsh marigold, happy in boggy places in full sun, it can cope with a bit of shade, perfect for a pond edge, where it doesn't seem to be too bothered by slugs. Its white bowl shaped flowers have yellow stamens and are held over it's rounded shiny leaves. Plants are supplied in a 1.5ltr pot.
Camassia leichtlinii caerulea
Camassia leichtlinii caerulea make an impressive show in late spring early summer, they have strap like leaves and the violet blue ,star shaped flowers in tall spikes are held on strong stems. Happy in most soils from acid to alkaline. A plant that although bulbous copes very well with our wet Welsh winter conditions. Also makes a good cut flower. Plants are supplied rooted in a 1.5ltr pot.
Campanula ‘Iridescent bells’
Campanula 'Iridescent bells' is a real 'Wow!' plant, from almost black buds, it's beautiful lavender bells are 7cms in length and just smother the plants in colour . Last year this plant flew off our stand at every plant fair we took it to! Plants are supplied in a 1.5ltr pot.
Want to impress your neighbours? get yourself a Cardiocrinum giganteum , when they come into flower they are a real wow plant. The white trumpet shaped flowers are purple at their base , held on a strong stem that grows rapidly up to 2mts ( or more if you're lucky!) followed by large seed pods.The leaves are mid green and heart shaped, it is best in a damp but not boggy spot , a bit of leaf mould mixed into the planting hole works well to keep it well drained especially in the winter. Shade or semi shade is also a must, oh yes this plant is monocarpic and the main plant will die after flowering leaving behind several bulbils that will take 5 yrs to grow to flowering size. Cirsium rivulare Atropurpureum
You couldn't ask for a more elegant thistle! Cirsium rivulare Atropurpureum is a tough clump forming perennial, happiest in full sun it will cope with a little shade , is rabbit resistant and makes a good cut flower. Cut back after it's first flush of flowers to encourage it to bloom again . Plants are supplied in a 9 cm pot.
Cortusa matthioli ssp Pekinensis
Cortusa matthioli sub species Pekinensis is a pretty little woodlander, happy in cool , damp, shade. It's magenta bells are held above soft round divided leaves, although it's flowering season is in spring I have known them to have another go as late as September if you're lucky! Plants are supplied in a 1.5ltr pot.
Corydalis 'Spinners' is a cross between Corydalis Elata and Corydalis Flexuosa it's delicate sky blue flowers are held above divided ferny foliage , happy in most soils alkaline to acid, in sun or shade, as long as it doesn't dry out! after flowering in the spring and early Summer Corydalis 'Spinners' will go dormant until the Winter when it starts to reappear. Plants are supplied bare root December - February . 1.5ltr pot March onwards. If plants are sent when in full growth it may be necessary to cut them back for postage.
Delphinium ‘Sweet sensation’
A stunning compact Delphinium with tightly double blue mauve flowers. It makes a good cut flower, cut back the spent flower stems to the base to encourage it to keep blooming later into the end of summer. Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot and will be cut back for posting when necessary.
Dicentra Spectabalis Alba ( Lamprocapnos spectabalis Alba)
Dicentra Spectabalis Alba / Lamprocapnos spectabalis alba is a hardy perennial that flowers early in the Spring, it's fresh, light green ferny foliage appears in early April or earlier if you're in a sheltered area. The arching rows of white hearts are well in flower by mid April and last until July, Although Dicentra spectabalis Alba is fantastic in the shade where it's white hearts glisten from the gloom, I have grown it in full sun here in damp west Wales and it has been very happy! Although this is a tough plant it does tend to have brittle stems that aren't suited to a very exposed , windy site, but most average garden conditions suit it and it will reward you with a good sized clump. Plants are supplied bare root October - April. 1.5/2ltr pots May - September ( Plants will be cut back May onwards to avoid basal damage to brittle stems)

Dicentra Spectabilis 'Valentine' ( lamprocapnos spectabilis 'Valentine') has fabulous dark red stems that hold arches of red and white hearts over ferny green foliage that emerges dark red. Dodecatheon pulchellum 'Red wings' are small but tough, perfect for the front of the border or woodland edge. 'Red wings' is one of the strongest colour forms of Dodecatheon with flowers in a deepest cerise.Dodecatheon pulchellum is native to the west of North America and even into Alaska where it grows in coastal prairies, mountain meadows and stream sides. It is fully hardy and will form a good clump that can be divided in winter, Plants are supplied in a 1ltr pot.
Echinacea Delicious candy
If you've had the disappointment of planting Echinaceas only to find they've dissapeared we know how you feel! Echinaceas don't really like our conditions here as we are too damp, Echinacea Delicious candy is the only one that can cope! It has the most eye catching rich magenta blooms that come out early and last well into October, it has a compact habit and it's strong dark stems need no staking, it's popular with butterflies and makes an excellent cut flower. Filipendula Rubra ‘Venusta’
Filipendula rubra 'Venusta' is a big , bold plant that likes a damp site in sun or shade. It's flower buds are deep pink, almost red and open to reveal frothy sprays of dark pink blooms. The stems are strong no staking is needed, no disease problems either and ..... they're slug proof too! They look great at the back of a border or at a pond edge where they will form a strong clump that can be divided in the winter. Plants are supplied bare root from December - March , April onwards in a 2ltr pot and will be cut back for dispatch.

Geranium pratense ‘Cloud nine’
This is our new Geranium Pratense 'Cloud nine' after years of trials which it has passed with flying colours, we can now offer it for sale! Cloud nine won silver at the Horticultural trade association National plant show. It is a strong growing , disease resistant, slug and rabbit proof, hardy plant that bulks up quickly , it's egg shell blue flowers smother the plants in May till July and then have a second flush in August till September. A real winner with the bees who enjoy a feast every summer! oh and if you can bring yourself to cut off your blooms it makes a good cut flower lasting about 10 days in a vase. Geum 'Gimlet' has the softest, primrose yellow,semi double flowers. It is happy in full sun or semi shade, in fact it grows well in full shade but doesn't produce as many flowers, but the foliage looks fab! A damp site is where it is really at home( damp but not completely soggy boggy!) and will bulk up into a good clump within a season. Although it's main flowering flush is in the spring if it is dead headed it will often come back into flower and treat you to more blooms in August - September.Geum Gimlet is a great addition to the perennial border, giving you flowers almost all summer.
